A lovely article on Angela’s inspiration, experience and Queene and Belle’s journey so far.

London – Tate Modern
On one of our recent trips to London we were able to enjoy the remarkable space of this outstanding modern and contemporary art gallery.
Exhibiting are two inspirational women artist – Sonia Delaunay and Marlene Dumas.
THE EY EXHIBITION: SONIA DELAUNAY
Amazingly modern for her time, Sonia Delaunay sought to extend art into the broader material culture. This major retrospective is simply wonderful. The pure colour and rhythm of her paintings and chic, timeless geometric shapes found on her knitted swimwear and clothing, made us realise how much Sonia Delaunay is a pioneer of abstract art.
We love this image of some of her clothing and it reminds us of our Koko poncho, which will be exclusively available in August at Matches.
MARLENE DUMAS: THE IMAGE AS BURDEN
Loved the haunting images and her poetic words.
Transitioning into Spring
Our Prairie summer dress has had a lovely feature in the Daily Telegraph – thank you Kate Finnigan, we are so pleased you have found your ‘dream prairie style dress’.
Cherry Blossom
This gorgeous photograph of the Cherry Blossom at Takasaki Castle, Gunma, was sent from our lovely customer Seiichi Tanaka.
Paris – Foundation LV
Foundation Louis Vuitton, architect Frank Gehry’s latest museum project, was the setting for an amazing intimate performance from Kanye West.
The performance billed as ‘A film by Steve McQueen’ premiered his latest music video directed by McQueen, with an exhibition of work by Jackie Nickerson, who photographed the lookbook for West’s collaboration with Adidas.
We were very fortunate to be invited to one of the evening performances – a massive thank you to Gayle and Kim.
Tanya Ling |Queene and Belle
Beautiful things we love and love to share – Our Scottish cashmere collaboration with Tanya Ling, featuring 2 styles of sweater and a gorgeous cashmere wrap all inspired by Ling’s line paintings.

Cara&Co: Synergy of Art and Fashion
A while ago I created two pieces for Synergy of Art and Fashion in support of The Sound World – a vintage silk corset and a painting.
The “Synergy of Art & Fashion” project is an exhibition and charity auction event designed to attract the attention of the public to The Sound World Australia Charity Foundation. The Sydney Synergy of Art and Fashion exhibition is the third in a series, following highly successful events held in Paris and Moscow in 2011.

The vintage silk corset is from the 1800’s made composed of 100% silk fabric base inlaid with 100% Cashmere hand intarsia insets; Vintage cotton lace hem; Polyester ribbon trim and straps; and Vintage multi-coloured diamante buckles threaded onto shoulder straps
The painting entitled “Realm of Dreams” is an acrylic, emulsion and graphic composition on canvas.
I’m delighted to be involved with this worthwhile cause and hope everyone gets a chance to visit the exhibition from the 15th – 21st March. I wish all involved a great evening for the auction on 21st March.
Details about the exhibition and auction are available from www.thesoundworld.org/synergy_eng.html

Cara & Co Synergy of Art and Fashion Exhibition
In early March we arrived in Paris for Fashion Week. We showed the Collection at the Hotel Sofitel Le Faubourg which is a beautiful low key luxury hotel in a fantastic location in the centre of Paris.
During our stay we received an invitation to go to the Cara & Co Synergy of Art and Fashion Exhibition at Le Meurice Hotel. We had previously been asked to contribute two pieces of work for this exhibition – a garment and a wall-art object.
The synergy of art and fashion is one of the core fundamental values of the Russian concept store Cara & Co. Designers working with Cara & Co move away from the conveyor belts of mass production in order to mould a fashion garment into an actual work of art. Ultimately the distinction between art and fashion becomes virtually non-existent.
The project “Cara & Co Synergy of Art and Fashion” is aimed to convey the authenticity and eternal values of fashion, its depth, its artistry.
It was a lovely champagne reception with Rosa Alpert and Alexi Oleshov the founders of Cara & Co informing all the guests that the exhibition will carry on to cities such as Seoul, Beijing and Sydney and after the tour the pieces will be sold at auction and the proceeds will be donated to Cara & Co’s charity organization, The Sound World, which helps deaf children from all over the world benefit from cochlear implants.
